A body has been discovered in the water in Devon. Police were called to reports of a body in the water near Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth yesterday morning (Wednesday, April 10).
An eyewitness told PlymouthLive : "A body has been found in the dockyard". While formal identification is still yet to take place, the family of missing 18-year-old Michael Oppong Yeboah have been notified. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
Michael had been missing since March and was last seen in the water at East hoe beach on Monday, March 18. A large-scale search operation was launched, involving Devon and Cornwall Police and the Coastguard, who scoured the area near Tinside Lido for over 12 hours. The search for Michael was called off on Tuesday afternoon, March 19.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed: "Police received a report at around 6.45am (Wednesday, April 10) of a body in the water in Plymouth. Formal identification is yet to take place."
"The family of 18-year-old Michael Oppong Yeboah, who was reported missing on 18 March, have been informed of this development. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
