Courts

Magistrates Courts deal with offences where the maximum permitted sentence for each offence does not exceed six months imprisonment or one year if two or more offences are to be considered. Crown Courts deal with the more serious cases including murder, rape, robberies, serious assaults. There are also the coroners courts, investigating causes of deaths, and the High and Appeal Courts, mainly heard in London
