Cullompton will be pulsating with vibrant energy on Saturday, April 13, as the annual Spring Festival explodes onto the scene. This year's event from 9.30am until 2pm, promises to be a smorgasbord of locally-produced food, handcrafted treasures, and a generous helping of community spirit.

Judy Morris, the festival's organiser, said: "It's a feast of celebration with locally produced food and crafts." But Judy's vision goes beyond just showcasing the town's bounty. "This year," she enthuses, "our aim is to use the event to encourage greater community integration."

The presence of Eastern European speakers will be readily available to assist anyone navigating any language barriers. A fusion of cultures awaits festival-goers, with Bulgarian dancers and Ukrainian singers gracing the Farmers Market, while Ukrainian and Rumanian chefs tantalise taste buds with culinary delights at the town hall cookery event. Even the Walronds garden gets a touch of international flair with Bulgarian gardeners showcasing their expertise.

Keeping the younger generation entertained is a priority at the Spring Festival. A brand new High Street Easter Trail promises egg-cellent fun, with trail forms readily available for pick-up at the Hayridge. Once completed, these forms can be returned to the Hayridge by April 13 for a chance to win a prize.

The Walronds garden will be a haven for budding horticulturalists with free drop-in children's planting workshops. Aspiring green thumbs can get their hands dirty creating miniature gardens in seed trays, painting pots and planting them, or simply sowing seeds to take home and nurture. There's even a miniature garden competition, with the option to bring a pre-made masterpiece or participate in a workshop on the day to craft a contender.

The Farmers Market in the Higher Bullring promises to be a feast for the senses, overflowing with delectable food stalls and an enticing array of handcrafted treasures displayed in the Walronds garden. And for those seeking a sweet treat, the Baptist Church in High Street will be serving up tempting cream teas between 11am and 1pm, with proceeds benefiting the School Pastors.

Adding to the lively atmosphere will be the Higher Beings Stilt Walkers, their towering presence sure to capture imaginations. The Bradninch Millers Morris Men, Cullompton Ace Majorettes, and the Ukes of Wellington will provide a delightful mix of traditional flair and musical merriment.

Families looking to create lasting memories together can participate in the exciting "Families Cooking Together" event at the Town Hall. Two sessions are available, at 10am and noon, with a choice between a Romanian or Ukrainian menu. Reservations are essential, so be sure to call or WhatsApp 07778350432 to secure your spot.
