Loved ones are setting off on a mission across the Devon coastline to raise awareness of brain tumours. Deborah Gozzard from Plymouth and her daughter, mother, and two best friends are embarking on the 'Follow the Seagulls' charity trek, a two-day, 50-mile hike along the coast. The walk will ensure the gathering of donations for Braintrust, a charity dedicated to assisting families impacted by brain cancer.
A very personal reason drove the choice to start this journey. A few months back, Deborah's eldest son sadly told them that one of his best friends found out he had a brain tumour that couldn't be removed right after finishing university.
Deborah and her team felt compelled to get involved after seeing the severe impact of this disease on a young close friend and the unfathomable difficulties his family were facing.

Braintrust is essential when it comes to offering encouragement, direction, and support to people facing the uphill battle of a brain cancer diagnosis. By participating in the "Follow the Seagulls" walk, Deborah and her team aim to raise awareness and funds to enable Braintrust to continue its invaluable work.
"We are very aware of the South West Coast Path's beauty and its demands, making it the perfect backdrop for our challenge," said Deborah. "It's a testament to our commitment to support Braintrust and the many families who rely on their services during the most challenging times of their lives."
The team wants to significantly improve the lives of those impacted by brain cancer through leveraging the power that comes from community and donations. They call on the public to support their endeavour through donations, spreading the word and cheering them on as they tackle each mile with determination and hope.
