A Devon fire crew have given a glimpse of what it's like to rescue people from a burning building. Seaton Fire Station released footage on social media from a training drill they carried out last night (April 15).
The firefighters were posed with the situation of a fire in a gym where two adults were missing. The drill included breathing apparatus, fire fighting, search and rescue, and a smoke curtain.
The officer in charge of the crew was told the building was evacuating using the hallway near to the fire. The blaze was indicated by a flashing red strobe light while cold smoke was used to limit visibility and two 50kg dummies represented the casualties.

The videos posted on Facebook show one casualty located behind the door while the other was in the far corner of the room. Seaton Fire Station said in the post: "It is difficult to get the same conditions as a real fire, no heat, so you will notice two of the crew were down low, treating the conditions as 'Hot' and 1 stood up treating the conditions as they find 'Cold'.
"The smoke curtain was used to reduce the affect of smoke and heat in the area where there was an ongoing evacuation. It was a great effort by all with a few learning points to address. Well done crew.
