There were emotional scenes as the shutters came down for the final time at Exeter's Wilko. About 50 customers turned up to say farewell to the Guildhall store on Sunday.
Some came in for last-minute bargains but many just wanted to say goodbye to staff. The retailer collapsed into administration in August, resulting in 400 store closures and the loss of around 12,500 jobs.
A video was taken by customer Callum Phillip. It shows staff giving a poignant final wave as the shutters roll down.

Callum said: "There was a last announcement and basically everyone stood still and listened. It was a heart-breaking moment as a customer I will never forget - the way she couldn't finish it - a colleague took over and members of staff came running over to give her hugs.
"It was a very emotional end. There were about 50 people, the staff from other shops came out to watch and everyone clapped as well."
Wilko has been a familiar sight in the Exeter Guildhall Shopping Centre for nearly 13 years, first opening as Wilkinson on October 27, 2010. When it was announced that the store would be closing for the final time on October 8 this year, staff left an emotional message to their loyal customers.
The message says: "Dear customers, on behalf of all our staff here in Exeter, we would like to thank you for all your support over the years and appreciate all of your custom and understanding in this difficult time. Thank you, Team Exeter 376".
