Exeter City will begin their League One campaign with a trip to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday, August 5. Gary Caldwell’s men are ready for their second season back in the third tier, having finished 14th last time around.
The Grecians’ first home outing will see them lock horns at St James Park on Saturday, August 12, with the visit of recently relegated Blackpool. That is then followed by away trips to Portsmouth and Carlisle United, before another former Championship side in Reading visit Devon.
Boxing Day will see City face Wycombe in the reverse fixture at St James Park, before Portsmouth visit on December 29. On New Year’s Day, the fixture computer has handed the Grecians an away trip to Reading
The Easter Bank Holiday double header will see City host Charlton Athletic on Good Friday, before a trip to Cheltenham Town on Easter Monday. The run-in for City looks softer than last season, as that is followed by Stevenage, Port Vale, Northampton Town, and then a home game on Saturday April 27 against Oxford United,
City have six midweek Tuesday fixtures scheduled, with games against Derby County and Shrewsbury Town as last season, as well as trips to Portsmouth and Charlton Athletic planned. Fixtures against Bristol Rovers, the shortest trip of the season, are away on October 14, before the reverse fixture on February 3.
