Exeter City’s search for a striker has seen them land MK Dons frontman Mo Eisa, who has joined the club on loan for the remainder of the season. The 29-year-old frontman has fallen out of favour with the League Two club, but has a track record of scoring goals in the lower divisions after moving from non-league football to Cheltenham Town in July 2017.
In his one and only season at Whaddon Road, the Sudan international struck 25 times in 50 appearances, which earned him a £1.5 million move to Championship side Bristol City. However, Eisa made just five appearances for the Robins before being sold to Peterborough United 12 months later in a club record deal for the Posh.
Eisa’s career kicked on again at London Road as he scored 16 times in 35 appearances, as Posh narrowly missed out on the play-offs due to the outbreak of Covid ending that season prematurely and the following year, Eisa was in and out of the side, scoring only five times in 36 outings.

He joined MK Dons in the summer of 2021, scoring 12 in 41 appearances, as the club were relegated from League One, and 14 in 37 appearances last season. He started this campaign well with five goals in his first eight games, but he has not scored - barring a penalty for Sudan in a 1-1 World Cup qualifying draw with Togo in November - since September 16 and been in and out of the first team.
The 29-year-old Sudanese international, who is out of contract at Stadium MK at the end of the season, bolsters Gary Caldwell’s attacking options with just two days left of the January transfer window – with Halifax Town forward Millenic Alli linked with a move to City with a deal on the verge of completion.
The Grecians have also been linked with a whole host of strikers this month with a club record £150,000 bid for Stevenage frontman Aaron Pressley rejected by their League One rivals earlier this week.
The deal, including add-ons, could have risen to £200,000 for the 22-year-old, who only signed for Boro in the summer from Brentford for an undisclosed fee. Pressley, the son of former Scotland international Steven, has made 15 league appearances for Steve Evans’ side this campaign, scoring twice, with six of those as a substitute.
Hibernian frontman Chris Doidge was another name linked with Exeter. The experienced 31-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is believed to be free to leave Easter Road, so with plenty of options available, the Grecians are unlikely to be done with their transfer business just yet.
