The dust has finally settled on last autumn's World Cup, and rugby fans across the country are getting ready for this year's Six Nations Championship.

The annual festival of rugby kicks off in Marseille on Friday, February 2 as holders Ireland travel to 2023 runners-up, France.

The following day, England will get underway with a trip to Rome to face Italy, before Wales welcome Scotland to Cardiff to round off week one.

If you can't make it to the matches, then where better to enjoy the action than in a cosy pub with great drinks and delicious food, surrounded by friends, passionate fans and friendly staff?

Two of Exeter's best pubs for rugby fans - The Black Horse and The Mount Radford - will each be showing every single match of this year's Six Nations, giving you the best seat in the house.

Both pubs offer a vast selection of delicious food and drink options

Pubgoers will be able to enjoy a limited-edition beer, Scrumdown, created by Greene King to celebrate the great tournament in selected pubs. The 4.1% fresh golden ale has tropical and citrus notes and is an easy drinking and refreshing cask ale. Made with classic English hops, this is the perfect pint to enjoy during the games.

Additionally, each pub boasts an extensive drinks menu with Guinness available on tap, plus a range of premium beers, cocktails, wines, spirits, and more.

So, immerse yourself in the magical matchday atmosphere and get yourself in prime position for the action by booking your table in advance.

The Black Horse

For all the Six Nations matches live on big screens and a cosy, welcoming atmosphere, head to The Black Horse on Longbrook Street on the edge of Exeter city centre.

This atmospheric pub has low ceilings, exposed beams, a pool table and even digital darts if you fancy challenging your mates between matches. Head outside to enjoy the match in the fresh air in the pub's spacious beer garden.

Peckish? Food is served until 9pm every day (7.30pm on Sundays), with plenty of delicious pub classics, burgers, small plates and large platters to choose from.

The Mount Radford

Catch every match of this year's Six Nations in this quirky pub on the corner of Magdalen Road and College Road. The main bar is bright and airy - the perfect spot for a pint and a bite to eat while you watch the rugby. Down the back, keep the fun going on the pool and shuffleboard tables.

With food served from midday to 9pm, seven days a week, there's not excuse not to check out the menu.

Alongside classic pub dishes like steak and ale pie, you'll find burgers including a Beyond Meat plant-based patty, mix and match small plates to share, like battered halloumi and Japanese-style karaage sticky chicken, and sharing platters for your entire group.
