The family of a boy who died in a crash this weekend have described him as 'the light of our small village'. Lennix Sutcliffe, 8, was fatally injured while on a scooter on Woodland View, Ditton Marsh, Wiltshire at around 4.30pm on Saturday when a driver was pulling into a driveway. Lennix sadly died at the scene.
His parents Jackie and Chris have released a tribute, saying: "Our Lennix was always playing, a happy-go-lucky child who was loved by everyone and who loved everyone. He simply loved life and was the light of our small village. He loved Pokémon and his favourite character was Charizard. He was playing today, just playing, taking every ounce of enjoyment that life offered.
"We as a family are now coming together to support one another. We ask our community to provide us both time and space in the days, weeks and months ahead of us."
Emergency services were called to the road traffic collision involving a vehicle and Lennix. Wiltshire Air Ambulance was scrambled alongside other 999 responders, but despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead.
“Our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time,” a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said. They added: “A man in his 30s is being interviewed, as is usual in these circumstances."
Enquiries in relation to the collision remain ongoing by the Serious Collision Investigation Team. Anyone with information can call 101 and quote log number 218. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
