One happy visitor said the idyllic tourist hotspot was paradise. Their full review said: “Beautiful natural beach carved out of the tree lined cliff, accessible by cleverly crafted steps not for wimps or disabled. The effort is rewarded when you witness the pure nature beauty and the clear clean sea lapping on the shore of a quiet beach blessed with areas of natural shade. It’s a paradise on earth, don’t tell anyone.”
Another called it “a little piece of heaven”. They described their visit and said: “We recently stayed at the Watermouth Valley campsite and visited Broadsands Beach. Yes the steps are steep and it’s a long way down, but we are so glad we did it. Gorgeous little enclosed beach, fantastic for a little swim, sea glass hunting and taking in the beautiful sounds of the sea.”
Others simply added: “It’s a little piece of heaven and we even forgave the 250 steps to get down to the beach. Of course we had to come back up too.”
The stunning beach offers a wide expanse of golden sand, making it an ideal spot for sunbathing, beach games, and picnics for the whole family. The turquoise waters at Broadsands are relatively calm and safe for swimming, making it suitable for families with young children and those looking to enjoy water sports like kayaking and paddle boarding. But be warned, there are no lifeguards, in fact there is not anything here, except natural beauty.
Spending the day soaking up the sun is not the only thing you can do either, there are beautiful coastal paths and walking trails surrounding the beach, allowing visitors to enjoy scenic walks and explore the stunning coastal landscape. The area around Broadsands Beach is also known for its rich wildlife, and you may spot various seabirds, marine life, and occasional dolphins or seals along the shoreline.
This is a great little cove for exploring with lots of nooks and crannies, and even a few caves. It is worth noting that the beach disappears as the tide comes in so do check before you plan your visit.
Devon is simply bursting at the seams with stunning beaches, gorgeous staycations and even on of the UK's best road trip routes. You can find out everything Devon has to offer here.
