Exeter City academy product Harry Kite will leave the Grecians at the end of the season when his contract expires. City manager Gary Caldwell confirmed that the 23-year-old will depart St James Park in the summer.
The midfielder has played 100 times for City since making his debut in 2017, scoring seven times. He was a key part of the side which achieved promotion from League Two in the 2022/23 season.
But Kite had found game time hard to come by this season, and despite making 23 appearances, only five of them have been in 2024, with only nine starts in the league all season. After Saturday’s 4-2 win at Port Vale, in which Kite was a second half substitute as City came from 2-0 down to win, Caldwell confirmed the news fans have been expecting for a long time.

“Ever since I have been here you know what you will get from him,” the manager said. “He is a fantastic pro, another academy graduate we are proud of.
“He will leave the club in the summer, but great that he has got this game and hopefully we can get something at St James Park before the end of the season. We knew he was on 99 games and wanted him in the team at some point, and a game SJP for what he has contributed, so we hope we can do that.”
Kite is the second academy graduate who it has been announced will be leaving this summer after Alex Hartridge. The defender turned down the offer of a new deal and will depart the Grecians at the end of the season.
