The heartbroken mum of a 35-year-old Plymouth man who has now been missing without any trace for nearly four months has vowed not to give up the search for her son. Daniel Mizzi was last seen in St Ives, Cornwall, on December 8.
It is not known why he was there as his family have said he had no known links to the area. On the day he disappeared, Daniel left his home in the morning and caught a train to St Erth station at 12.08pm.
He then walked to St Ives. He was last spotted on the seafront at Porthmeor Beach at 1.28pm. His phone has been unresponsive since 6.40pm that evening and his family have received no contact from him.

Daniel's mum, Karran Minchinton set up a missing person's page on Facebook and also launched an online fundraiser to help her find her son. Today, March 29, she shared an emotional post on Facebook telling of the toll his disappearance has had on her.
She said: "I cannot believe we have nothing since December 8. I miss him so much it tears me apart.
"I have had Christmas, my birthday, Mother's Day and on April 13 it will be his birthday. I want to hide or not be here but that is not an option.
"I want to hear his voice and hear him take the p***. Buying just Jake's [Daniel's brother] Easter eggs was hard. It is the little things.
"Am I going to see him again or bury my boy who has never hurt anyone? We spent all special occasions together. There is a big hole there.
"It is not just hard for me but for his brother Sean and all those who loved him. All I know is I can't give up the search."
Daniel, a freelance writer, lived with his brother Jake in Plymouth. He told in February that Daniel had been acting completely normal before his disappearance.
He said: "We had no idea he was going there [St Ives]; there was no indication of anything wrong and he may have just gone there for a day out but it would be very unlike him to do that.
"We don't know if he met anyone, and that is a line of inquiry that the police have followed. He doesn't normally stay out overnight, so the following day after he left, the Saturday, it started to play on my mind, as he's never gone missing before. He is very risk averse, he is very intelligent, he avoids getting into trouble.
"The day before he disappeared we were chatting and joking in the house and he was the same as ever. The police investigation around Christmas and New Year was that he could have jumped off a cliff, but the detective investigating it now says the evidence doesn't point to that happening.

"We are a tight-knit family, the four of us with our mum and step dad and one of the worst things is just not knowing what has happened. We don't know anyone that he knew in St Ives or why he would be there, he never showed any interest in that place and has no links to it.
"The police are doing a good job and the detective doesn't believe he looked suicidal looking at CCTV images because of his expression and the way he was behaving. There are possible theories but that one is not high on the list."
Jake also told how drones and helicopters had searched for his brother but he had 'disappeared into thin air'. The family's online fundraiser has so far raised just over £1,200. The page states it will help towards advertising, appeals, travel, posters and flyers. It will also go towards keeping his house he shares with Jake.
Police have previously appealed for anyone who was walking on the coastal path on the day Daniel went missing and anyone in the area who may have CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage to get in touch. Anyone who sees Daniel is asked to contact police on 999 quoting 50230321378.
