BBC drama The Night Manager is to return after eight years of air with two new seasons, the BBC has said. Tom Hiddleston will return as hero Jonathan Pine with the possibility Elizabeth Debicki could also return, reports The Sun.
Tom said: “The first series of The Night Manager was one of the most creatively fulfilling projects I have ever worked on. The depth, range and complexity of Jonathan Pine was, and remains, a thrilling prospect.
"I’m so looking forward to reuniting with Simon and Stephen Cornwell, David Farr and Stephen Garrett, and to working with Georgi Banks-Davies to tell the next chapter of our story. I can’t wait.”
Filming on the series, which aired in 2016, will start later this year. The show could be on screens in 2025.
BBC head of content Charlotte Moore said: “After years of fervent speculation I’m incredibly excited to confirm that The Night Manager is returning to the BBC for two more series.”
The Night Manager, adapted from a John le Carré novel, won a number of BAFTAs, Emmys and Golden Globes. The new seasons will be produced by Hugh Laurie, 64, who played arms dealer Richard Roper.
Olivia Colman, 50, also appeared as foreign office official Angela Burr.
