A Dawlish landlord has been ordered to pay nearly £1,000 for fly-tipping household waste from his rental property. Nolan Foley admitted dumping waste on the pavement of West Cliff Road, in June 2022, after evicting a tenant from their home.
The items left on the kerb included a sofa, cushions, a table, drawers, white goods and other items. Teignbridge District Council, which brought the prosecution, said he was seen by a number of local residents who came forward and reported the tipping, agreeing to testify in court.
After initially denying the offences at Newton Abbot Magistrates' Court, Foley chose to have the case heard at Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to depositing controlled waste or knowingly causing or knowingly permitting controlled waste to be deposited without an environmental permit.
