The A3072 was fully closed near Okehampton due to a "dangerous tree" this evening (April 12). The road remained closed for around three hours and has now reopened.
The closure was in place at Newlands Cross in North Tawton. It was first reported at 6.20pm and motorists were urged to find alternative routes.
Devon Alert said in a post on X: "#Devon due to a dangerous tree, the A3072 is closed at Newlands cross, North Tawton. It will be closed for the next few hours whilst our contractors remove the tree."

It said in an update at 9.19pm: "The A3072 has just reopened."

Traffic monitoring site Inrix says: "A3072 in both directions blocked due to fallen tree at Okehampton turn off. Traffic is coping well."
