A woman has been taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on the A361 in North Devon. The A361 was closed in both directions, with long delays at Swimbridge, near Barnstaple, after vehicle reportedly went into a ditch.
Devon and Cornwall Police were informed of the crash at around 12.35pm today (April 12) with the South Western Ambulance Service and the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service. According to Google Maps, the road is congested between Swimbridge and the turn off for the West Buckland Cattery pet sitting service.
Traffic monitor Inrix reports:"A361 in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to accident, two vehicles involved between Landkey turn off (Barnstaple) and West Buckland turn off (Filleigh)."
A police spokesperson has confirmed a woman has been taken to hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing, they said. According to Inrix, the road reopened shortly before 3pm.
