Drivers face major delays ahead of rush hour in Barnstaple today (April 8). The A361 is partially blocked in both directions, causing traffic chaos through the town.
There are reports of long delays on multiple roads through Barnstaple, including the A39, A361, Braunton Road and the Pilton Causeway, according to Google Maps. According to Devon and Cornwall Police, the source of the chaos is a broken down vehicle.
Traffic monitor Inrix reports: "A361 Taw Bridge in both directions partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident near Sticklepath Junction. Accident reported on the southbound side."

It was a minor collision reported to us at around 3.35pm. Slight injuries reported.
