A beloved bully dog has been swept away into a Cornwall river with her owners in a desperate search and hoping she'll be found alive. Nala, who is a grey and white pocket bully, was last seen yesterday morning at around 10am when she went into the river at Dunmere, Bodmin, after a stick.
CornwallLive reports that Ross Hearn and Soph Singleton, of Bodmin, jumped in to try and grab her but had no luck and have been searching sections of the River Camel since. They said Nala went into the deeper section of the river during a walk on Tuesday (November 7) and was swept away in the current.
Searches have been underway since with the public encouraged to keep an eye out if walking anywhere along the River Camel. Ross Hearn, Nala's owner, said she was still missing this morning calling her "[his] girl" as they hope for the best. "It's been nearly 24 hours since Nala went into the water and never came back out.
"If anyone’s happening to walk along this trail today could you keep your eye out as I need this girl home. She isn’t just any dog she is my best friend and my child."
He said: "No matter the outcome I just need to see her one last time." Nala is wearing a red and black harness and could be anywhere along the river due to the current.
Updates and information on the search will appear in the live blog below.
Nala's family is heartbroken
Sophie and Ross say they are heartbroken as searches today have showed no sign of Nala. Posting to Facebook to update those following, she said: "The boys have been in the river and sadly can’t feel her or find her. I don’t think heartbroken is the word to describe how my family is feeling right now.
"We are still going to take walks there everyday and not give up and in hopes of one day we will see her there or even resurface and will also make a memory area for her to be remembered.
"I would lastly like to say thank you to every single person who has looked far and low with us. Every person who has screamed and shouted her name with us all. Got up early hours of the morning to look for her Every message / phone call from both sides of family and friends and even strangers. Sharing the post far and wide so everybody knows. All I can ask is lastly please keep a look out and if you do see her please pick her up and bring her home
"We are truly appreciate it all thank you all so much. Thank you everyone all our love Soph and Ross."
There has still been no sign of Nala
As of 1pm today (Thursday, November 9) Nala remains missing and with the weather coming in rough again this evening they are desperately hoping to find her.
Searching the river today
Ross will be getting into the river and searching through it today. Sophie once again wants to thank everyone for their help and supportive messages. She says she's been inundated with kind words.
'I cannot express how much my family is hurting and how much I am hurting', says owner
I cannot express how much my family is hurting and how much I am hurting. When you get a animal they aren’t just animals these are family members and when something this tragic happens it’s just as painful I have shouted her name as loud as I could and it’s heartbreaking she doesn’t respond.

Here is a reminder of what Nala looks like for anyone assisting in the search.
Still missing
Nala is unfortunately still missing today. It's been nearly 48 hours now since she went into the Camel Trail at Dunmere near Bodmin.
Owner Sophie said this morning: "To everyone I want to say once again thank you for the love and support last night I wanted to post my appreciation to thank everybody far and wide. Am hoping for a outcome as much as possible and as soon as possible even if it is for one last time.."
Owner issues update
Soph said: "Hello everyone. I’ve had so many messages asking about nala. I would like to use my platform to let everyone know and also thank everyone who has shared shared and looked and even came out we honestly are so grateful and for on the bottom of our hearts we are Truly grateful .
"Sadly today after searching for hours on end looking at every bank / river possible walking to wadebridge We haven’t still found our girl We honestly have no idea where abouts she would be or where she even is or even if she’s still somewhere in the river stuck somewhere I cannot express how much my family is hurting and how much I am hurting. When you get a animal they aren’t just animals these are family members and when something this tragic happens it’s just as painful I have shouted her name as loud as I could and it’s heartbreaking she doesn’t respond.
"I would like to take this time and use my platform to say thank you to every single person who has helped me and ross look high and low shared the word though Facebook or in person. And thank you to everyone who has got in contact asking and sent prayers out. I honestly can’t thank you all enough and I see and hear every single one of you Thank you so much we are truly grateful and we really do appreciate it so much.
"I would just like to say one thing to everyone who commented a negative reply to Cornwall live in the politest way possible shame on you and I hope you don’t ever have to go though what my family and I have gone though as it is heartbreaking. It’s nobody’s fault and nobody is to blame nala wasn’t thrown in the current and we would never do that to our girl a stick wasn’t thrown out in the current for her to get. Nala jumped over the shallow end and end to the deep end not realising it was a current. Family and friends raced to try and get her as fast as they could the current was so so strong it washed her however far she is we have tried for 2 days to get our girl back. And the fact that I have to explain that is sad It was posted on Cornwall love to spread the word for our girl. Not for vile people to comment horrible nasty stuff when they do not even know the full story’s themselves.
"I would like to once again say thank you to everyone who has shared , reposted and helped search and every phone call and message sent to either me or Ross truly thank you.
"If there is anything I can say is please please keep look out for our nala. Please if your walking though wadebridge / camel trail please keep a look out in the bushes or in the rivers with her red and black harness if anybody does see her please me or Ross know even if it isn’t the outcome we want we would just like our baby home.
"Thank you everyone we are truly grateful god bless to you all."

Me and Ross are extremely grateful and we appreciate it all so much. So from the bottom of our hearts we seriously mean it thank you
"Sadly we haven’t found Nala today. We have no idea where she’s been caught too or where she could be. We are completely heartbroken and just want our girl home. We are looking tomorrow in hopes maybe she’s somewhere no matter what the outcome is.
"Thank you all so much guys and if anybody does see Nala in there walks tonight or tommrow moring please let me know. Thank you all once again Goodnight and god bless."

Nala is a grey and white Pocket Bully and is friendly. If anyone sees her or a dog matching her subscription the owners are urging them to grab her and let them know.
Nala went missing in the River Camel at Dunmere near Bodmin.
Latest update from owners: 'We don't know whether she's alive or not '
Soph Singleton told CornwallLive this morning just before 9am they were heading out again to search for Nala. There have been no sightings since she was last seen going into the river at around 10am on Tuesday.
"She was last seen in the river at Dunmere when my husband through a stick for her in the shallow end and she fell into the deeper part and got stuck in the current.
"We're just hoping even though it's quite dramatic that she's been pulled onto something and is stuck on something because of her harness and we can find her. We don't know whether she's alive or not but that's what we're hoping for."
