Train services in south Devon were disrupted due to trespassers this morning (April 15). According to Great Western Railway (GWR), the train line was blocked between Newton Abbot and Paignton.
The incident involving reportedly took place near Torquay Station. Traffic monitoring site Inrix says that all services were suspended.
GWR said in a post on X: "Due to trespassers on the railway between Newton Abbot and Paignton the line is blocked. Train services running to and from these stations may be delayed."

Torbay MP Kevin Foster also posted on X: "No trains in or out of Torbay at the moment due to an incident near Torquay Station."

Trains are now running normally following multiple issues between Newton Abbot and Paignton.

Person suffers life-threatening injuries
British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the line in Torquay at around 10.18am today (15 March) following reports that a person had fallen onto the tracks. Officers attended and the victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries."
Train delays of 30 minutes
The latest update from Inrix says: "Delays of up to 30 minutes and some cancellations on Great Western Railway and CrossCountry between Newton Abbot and Paignton due to earlier trespass incident."
