A man has been found dead in Newton Abbot. The man, who was deemed high-risk, sparked an emergency service response at Bakers Park yesterday (Thursday, March 7).
Police were called to assist search and rescue teams in looking for a male who was missing at 2pm yesterday afternoon. It was believed he was in the Bakers Park area at the time.
Crews identified the areas where he was most likely to be, and those areas were searched. Then, at around 7pm, crews located the man, but he was sadly deceased.

An official statement from Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team said: "At 2pm on Thursday 7th March the team were called out by Devon & Cornwall Police to assist in the search for a high-risk male in the Bakers Park area of Newton Abbot.
"The highest probability areas were identified and then searched. The individual was found at approximately 7pm but was sadly deceased. Our thoughts are with the individual’s friends and family."
