'Out-of-control youths' have been up to no good in the town centre damaging property and bringing misery to business owners.
The Tiverton Pannier Market shared a photograph showing the scene when staff arrived to first thing on Thursday, April 11..
A spokesperson for the market said: "The culprits forced open a secure fenced enclosure at the back of the market, pulled out a ladder and removed and ripped up a length of protective foam, leaving a dreadful mess on the ground.
"We also found lots of spit on the paving slabs. We've reported the incident to the police and hope the culprits can be identified via the CCTV cameras a few metres away.
"In the last couple of days we've been alerted to other incidents of property damage in the town centre, believed to have been caused in the early hours of the morning, as well as shoplifting.
"Please contact the police if you have any information that could assist. If you're thinking of getting up to mischief, please note that we have several CCTV cameras on all sides of the market."
