A café in Exeter city centre has suddenly closed, seemingly without a trace. The site is currently locked up and appears to have removed most of its online accounts.
Grow Coffee House, a popular hangout spot on South Street, is currently displaying signs on its door that say "Sorry we are closed". Inside the café, furniture appears to have been moved and the blinds have been pulled down over the windows that face onto the main street.
The coffee shop's Google profile states that it is "temporarily closed", just days after receiving online reviews. Both their Facebook and Instagram profiles appear to have been removed, while their X (formerly Twitter) account has been inactive since March 2022.
While the Grow Coffee House website still comes up when searched, the site itself says "sorry, this store is currently unavailable". DevonLive attempted to contact the business via the phone number on its LinkedIn page but an automated message said: "You have reached a number that is no longer set up to receive calls. Please try again later."

There is also a branch of the café in Cullompton, which remains open according to Google but its social media pages appear to have been removed. This appears to have been the second branch of Grow, which opened next to the Culm Valley Integrated Health Centre.
Grow Coffee House first opened on the ground floor of Concord House in Exeter in 2019 and has gone on to amass a loyal customer base. It receives rave reviews from customers, boasting a 4.6 star rating on Google. Reviewers highlight "amazing staff", "delicious" food and a "warm and inclusive atmosphere".
On its LinkedIn page, Grow Coffee House says: "Grow Coffee House is a physical space to express the relentlessly positive ethos of Grow through. Our moto is 'Grow Through What you Go Through'.
"We roast our coffee in Exeter and often it's consumed within hours of roasting. With our house blend and decaf house blend designed specifically for our coffee houses. When visiting us you can enjoy amazing coffee, cakes, light lunches, relaxed atmosphere and much, much more - all from the best local suppliers from the region.
"We now have 3 coffee houses in Devon which each offer a slightly different space to work, relax and meet in. We are family friendly and a great locations for socialising, remote working, event hire and business meetings."
There are plans to turn the former social housing flats at Concord House into luxury apartments but its unclear if this will affect the café or whether this is the reason for their closure.
