A reckless driver was caught hitting speeds of over 90mph in the pouring rain today Wednesday, April 10. Devon and Cornwall Police said the motorist has been reported and slammed their driving as "not safe or acceptable".
Devon has been battered by rain and wind in recent days, leading to a number of incidents on roads across the county. The A377, in North Devon, was closed by a landslip yesterday, Tuesday, April 9, while the A3124, near Winkleigh, was fully shut after a tree fell on the carriageway.
Police posted a video of the speeding motorist on X at 1.03pm this afternoon. The post said: "Once caught up, this driver was recorded at a speed of 92mph in the pouring rain. Not safe or acceptable. Driver reported."

The Met Office previously issued a yellow weather warning for strong wind in Devon. A number of flood alerts are also in place with people urged to avoid low-lying roads and footpaths.
