The Red Arrows will soar over Teignmouth this summer as part of the programme for the Teignmouth Airshow. Along with the popular RAF Typhoon and the much-loved RAF Lancaster, the famous aerobatics team will take to the skies in July.

Teignmouth Airshow is set to take place on Saturday, July 6, with a jam-packed events schedule planned to run from Thursday – Sunday. Run by a team of passionate volunteers, Teignmouth Airshow is funded by the community, for the community.

Founded in 2019, the event attracts around 30,000 visitors and has become a highlight in the local calendar of events. Teignmouth Airshow is the largest free event in Teignbridge.

Volunteer Chairman Dave Matthews expressed his delight that Teignmouth Airshow had once again secured the RAF Red Arrows. He said: “I’m blown away that we’ve managed to secure them for a third year running, we never dreamt that this would have been possible when our volunteers began this journey in 2018, I’m over the moon that Teignmouth will once again be a display location.”

As a community-driven event organised by a team of volunteers, they rely on the generosity of sponsors and supporters to help cover the costs. David Cook, volunteer accounts director said operating costs were expected to be in the region of £90,000 to host the four-day event, of which £40,000 goes towards the aircraft displays.

The airshow event spans four days, with live music and a classic car rally included. The Red Arrows, who won’t be flying over Sidmouth this summer after the Airshow for 2024 was cancelled, will be the highlight of the programme on the Saturday.

Tracy Scranage, volunteer director who helps to manage the wider team of volunteers, added: “Teignmouth Airshow is a great example of what can be achieved when our community work together, I look forward to welcoming back our growing team of event volunteers and will be looking to increase our team with more friendly faces who are willing to showcase the warm hospitality Teignmouth has to offer.”
