An enthralling 1980s night of music is coming to Devon's stunning RHS garden this summer. The exciting nostalgia ride is a part of RHS Garden Rosemoor’s annual ‘Live’ sessions.

The event promises to be filled with high-energy, dynamic performances guaranteed to have you dancing and reminiscing. Jetpac, the ultimate tribute to the 80s Pop era, will cover tracks by Duran Duran, Gary Numan, Nik Kershaw, Toto, A-Ha, Tears For Fears, Kajagoogoo and many more.

Then, for something truly different, Gran Halen will play smash hits like Back's On Fire, Hit Me With Your Walking Stick, Care Home Alabama, Old Age Dirtbag, Purple Rinse, Bingo Inferno, Nan In The Mirror and many more. It's on Saturday, June 29 at 8pm, with tickets £15/£20.

If that's too raucous for you, the gardens are also playing host to two daytime literary events in the Garden Room. You can enjoy talks by authors with Q & A sessions and book signings while admiring beautiful garden views.

Gardener, writer and presenter Frances Tophill talks about her life and work and her latest book 'A Year in a Small Garden' following her progress as she creates her new garden in a terraced house in Devon at 1:30pm on Friday, May 17.

Working in a small space, the book documents her journey to bring life to her garden, including tips and tricks for you to achieve similar results in whatever spaces you have at home. Tickets £15/£20.

Or join local author Liz Shakespeare on Saturday, May 18, at 1:30pm as she launches her latest book ‘The Ordeal of Miss Lucy Jones’.

Delving into the history of North Devon, Liz is known for her ability to breathe new life into the true stories of the past. Lucy Jones becomes embroiled in a scandal set in Torrington in 1879, culminating in the burning of effigies by a crowd of three thousand people and making national news. Tickets £10.

At 2:30pm on Sunday, May 19 the Torrington Silver Band invites you to the 20th Massed Bands Concert featuring Torrington Silver Band, Bideford Town Band and Appledore Band, also in the Garden Room. Each of these bands has selected a fantastic mix of music to entertain you, playing together as a massed band of over 80 talented musicians.

Tickets £10 adults, £2 young people 16 and under, include free entry to the Garden from 12pm.

Three evening concerts will take place as the spacious Garden Room and expansive terrace area are transformed into the ultimate informal gig space. Dance the night away to funk, pop and rock music by talented musicians or listen with a drink as you stargaze with friends, it’s up to you.

As well as the 1980s night, you can enjoy an evening celebrating the music, life and legacy of the musical legend Prince from the definitive tribute band the New Purple Celebration at 8pm on Friday, June 28. This group of gifted musicians has delivered their non-stop, high-energy show spanning more than two hours to venues in the UK, Ireland, Europe and UAE since 2004.

In a show that has been described as “nothing short of a huge party”, the band takes you on a journey through the hits and hidden gems from deeper into the songbook of one of the most prolific artists of all time. 1999, Little Red Corvette, Purple Rain, Kiss, Nothing Compares 2 U, I Wanna Be Your Lover, Musicology and so many more.

Focusing on the power of Prince’s music and the atmosphere of his concerts and with a wealth of songs to choose from, no two shows are the same - this will be a night to remember. Tickets £22.50 / £27.50.

Then get ready to party with the critically acclaimed Women in Rock UK on Friday, July 5 at 8pm for a show that celebrates five decades of the world’s most recognizable female rock legends in the most talked about show currently on tour. Women In Rock pay homage to the likes of Blondie, Suzi Q, Janis Joplin, Heart, Joan Jett, Pink, Kiki Dee, Bonnie Tyler, Cher and more.

With a cast of world-class musicians and vocalists that deliver a blistering performance, you will be singing and dancing from the off with one hit after another, carefully chosen to ensure the whole family can enjoy the experience. With soaring vocals, harmonies and crowd interaction, you will remember this performance for a very long time. Tickets £20/£25.

The evening music sessions are standing events, there is some relaxed indoor seating available and full access to the Restaurant Terrace with outdoor covered seating - all areas are accessible. Tickets include entry to the gardens from 3pm and you can enjoy a fully stocked bar and a delicious outdoor BBQ from 5.30pm onwards.
