An attack by a suspected XL Bully left a girl in hospital with serious injuries. Devon and Cornwall Police was called to reports of a child being bitten by a dog in Falmouth last night.
In a statement, the force said the dog - which officers believe to be an XL bully - was seized. It is illegal as of February 1 to own an XL Bully without an exemption licence, as reported by CornwallLive.
It is also illegal to sell, rehome, abandon, breed or to have an XL Bully in public without a lead and muzzle. The ban occurred after a 22 percent increase in dog attacks from 2021-2023 - with a number of attacks coming from XL Bullies.
