A dog believed to be an XL Bully was seized by police officers after reports of a fight in Torquay. Devon and Cornwall Police officers were called to the Rock Road and Abbey Road areas of Torquay at around 12.30pm on Saturday, April 13.
It had been reported a fight had broken out. A man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released with no further action taken, a police spokesperson said.
A dog, suspected to be an XL Bully was also at the scene and was seized by police while the breed it confirmed. It is illegal to own an XL Bully without a valid Certificate of Exemption as of February 1 this year.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Police attended the area of Rock Road and Abbey Road in Torquay at around 12.30pm on Saturday following reports of a fight.
"A man in his 20s was arrested in connection to the incident but has since been released with no further action being taken. A dog, suspected to be an XL Bully, was also at the scene and was seized by police whilst enquiries are carried out to confirm the breed."
