Experience the magic of music at Uffculme School’s Spring Concert, where talented students unite to create a harmonious melody that echoes the spirit of our community
Uffculme School capped off a successful spring term with a vibrant performance showcasing the talents of its music program.
The Spring Concert, held on Wednesday, March 27, featured nearly 100 students from across various disciplines – from vocalists and choirs to string and brass ensembles.
"This concert was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate everything our students have been working on in their music classes," shared Emma Croft, Head of Performing Arts at Uffculme School. "Following the grand production of Beauty and the Beast, we wanted to offer another highlight to end the term on a high note. It was truly a night to remember, with an incredible turnout and an energetic performance."
The diverse program kept the audience on their feet, culminating in a rousing rendition of "YMCA" that brought together performers and attendees in a spirit of unity.
"It was a heartwarming moment to see everyone, both past and present Uffculme students, join in for a closing singalong," remarked Ms Croft. "This concert truly embodied the spirit of our school community."
Music teacher Jo Lihou echoed Ms Croft's sentiment, praising the students' dedication.
"We have a group of incredibly talented young musicians," she said. "My role is simply to help them build their confidence and shine on stage. Tonight's performance primarily featured their coursework, and the year eleven students put in a tremendous effort to ensure a flawless execution of some complex pieces."
The celebration doesn't end here! The Performing Arts department gears up for their next major event – the Uff-Fest, scheduled for Wednesday, July 10. This summer festival promises to be a grand finale to a year filled with exceptional performances by Uffculme School's talented students.
