Detectives want to hear from park-goers who may have seen an altercation between a group of teenage boys and girls which led to a 17-year-old suffering a suspected stab wound to his neck which required hospital treatment.
Police say were alerted to an incident which took place in the northern part of Beaumont Road, close to the corner of Tothill Avenue, and Lipson Road, at around 3.25pm on January 25.
Investigators say they believe a pre-arranged meeting took place between two young females, but a number of other teens accompanied the two parties, up to possibly five or six other teenage boys and girls. It is understood that during the meeting tempers flared and a physical alteration ensued which led to a 17-year-old male suffering a suspected stab wound to his neck.

Both have been released on police bail, pending further enquiries. Police have said a knife was recovered at the scene.
Investigating officer Det Con Nathan Drew said: "We want to reassure the public that this was not thought to be a random incident and that the parties are known to each other. There were a large number of people in the park at the time of the incident and we are very keen to hear from any of these independent witnesses. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a young woman walking away from the scene with blood on her.
"I would like to take this opportunity to stress that this was an isolated incident but would also like to remind young people and parents the risks and dangers associated with being in possession of bladed articles in public."
