Every community - no matter how hard to reach - deserves better broadband. Rural connectivity specialist Voneus is leading the charge to bring game-changing internet to the villages of west Devon and east Cornwall.
The Voneus network already extends across England and Wales, providing a network of full fibre broadband. Plans to roll out across the south west are well under way, bringing much-needed connectivity to rural communities that have been left behind by other broadband providers.
The process of building a full fibre network, known as Fibre to the Premises (FTTP), involves laying fibre optic cables underground or overhead, ready to deliver ultrafast internet directly into homes and businesses.
Voneus' Community Engagement Teams (CET) have become a familiar sight across a number of villages, meeting residents, building relationships and establishing a strong presence. By talking to the local community, the team can better understand the unique challenges of the area and how best Voneus can support every home and business.
And they’re already signing up customers who recognise the benefits of full fibre broadband and the unrivalled speed and reliability it offers, no matter how many people are online at the same time, and whether they are streaming, video calling or gaming.
Darren Gorman, head of fibre delivery at Voneus, said that local residents had been interested to see the network build in action: “The residents of Bere Alston and Gunnislake are really interested in what we’re doing and what we can bring to their communities.
“We’ve got off to a great start and are hoping that the design and build of this network will become a blueprint for future builds across Voneus.”
Better connectivity near you
Voneus' broadband aims to deliver affordable, ultrafast and reliable internet to transform the lives of residents struggling with poor connectivity, bringing a welcome boost to businesses and households in these areas.
A number of ultrafast broadband packages provide speeds ranging from 250Mbps to 900Mbps. Even better, one of the key advantages of Voneus' full fibre broadband is its symmetrical speeds, ensuring seamless performance for both downloading and uploading.
By using fibre optic cables instead of traditional copper wires, Voneus guarantees a reliable, high-speed connection.
Installation is free and, unlike some other big broadband providers, Voneus guarantees no price rises within the contract period - terms and conditions apply.
The full list of villages where Voneus is helping residents join the switch to better broadband is: Bere Alston, Bhetherick, Callington, Calstock, Chilsworth, Coxpark, Delaware, Drakewalls, Gunnislake, Harrowbarrow, Horsebridge, Latchley, Lower Dimson, Lower Metherell, Middle Dimson, Sherwell, St Ann’s Chapel, St Dominick, St Mellion, Sydenham Damerell and Tavistock.
The build will further be extended to include St Austell, Nanpean, Tywardreath and Foxhole among others.
