A workshop in Exmouth has been 'completely destroyed' by a large blaze which broke out on Saturday evening. Fire crews were called to the Littleham area of Exmouth at around 5pm on Saturday, March 23 where a single storey commercial building was well alight.
Two fire engines were immediately sent to the scene and were quickly joined by two more as the fire developed. Crews were sent from Exmouth, Danes Castle and Clyst St George. The building, which being used as a workshop, was completely destroyed by the blaze, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said.
The blaze was deemed to have started accidentally. DSFR service said in a statement: "Fire control received multiple calls to a commercial building on fire in the Littleham area of Exmouth. Two fire appliances were immediately mobilised to the incident."

The statement continued: "As soon as the first appliance arrived, they confirmed the building to be well alight and requested a third appliance. This was mobilised from Clyst St George fire station alongside a supporting officer. Shortly after requesting the third appliance, the officer in charge requested a water bowser, this was mobilised from Danes Castle, Exeter. Due to the nature of the fire, the officer in charge then requested a fourth appliance, this also came from Danes Castle.
"Crews confirmed a single storey building on fire. Crews were using six Breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one ground monitor, one main jet and one safety jet in use.
"Final update following a revisit to scene this morning - one building used as a workshop measuring 15m x 8m completely destroyed by fire. Crews used one triple extension ladder, six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one water monitor, one gas detector, environmental pack, light portable pump,. submersible pump, small tools, thermal imaging camera and lighting. This fire was confirmed to be accidental."
